Just yesterday, I went down to Miri, Sarawak with two of my sisters. We drove there and it took us roughly about 2 hours to reach. After shopping for the whole day, we decided to have brunch. We came across this tiny cafe called ‘Old Town White Coffee’. The looks of the cafe was welcoming and there was a faint smell of toast coming from it so we decided to try it out.
Looking through the menu, it took us quite some time to decide on what to order as there was huge variety of food to choose from. I ordered the ‘Old Town Coffee Lava’, two scoops of vanilla ice-cream drizzled with thick black coffee syrup.
From my opinion, the coffee syrup was a bit too bitter for me but together with the sweet vanilla ice-cream, it goes quite well. My sisters tried the butter and kaya toast and also the nasi lemak. The hot toast went perfect with the cold butter and kaya and one bite would make you want to have more of it. As for the nasi lemak, the sambal (chilli based sauce) had a nice lemon grass fragrance and a tint of spiciness that fits the hot coconut rice. For drinks, we had it’s famous ‘Old Town White Coffee’ and also a refreshing chocolate drink.
The prices are very much reasonable and the food was satisfying. I would recommend anyone to try it out if they ever visit Miri!
