Diablo 3 and what not

Lately, all I’ve been doing is get home from work and play D3. I’ve been neglecting all my other stuff such as this blog *ahem*, my cross-stitching, etc. Aaaaa..I kinda knew this would happen. Lol. I was addicted to WoW for a very long time. Since Oct 2007 up till Jan 2012, I was playing almost everyday non-stop. I was glad that my subscription finally ran out in January. It was nice to not be stuck at the computer the whole day. But now I’m into Diablo 3 lol.

Besides D3, there’s a few things that I was thinking about lately. First was to find a dinner dress for my wedding banquet this October. I’ve searched many places and read so many reviews on Yelp and what not. It seems like people here usually buy their dresses instead of renting it. And one dress costs an average of about $500!! Maybe because I like ball gowns >.< How I wished I bought one before I came over. The one that I used for my wedding dinner in Brunei was only $199 with alterations included. Its so cheap and pretty!

I looked around online and found a site (www.lightinthebox.com). Seems like reviews are pretty good and stuff so I took the risk and decide to order a dress from there. *fingers crossed* hope it turns out ok.

Recipe – Tartar Sauce

I have been studying for my upcoming exams recently and when I study, it is a must that I have snacks while doing so. I went shopping with my sisters and bought a whole lot of potato chips and many many other snacks of course! (: I wanted to buy dips too, but they were all kind of pricey and I had a thought that maybe I can make it myself. I came across this tartar sauce recipe and tried it out.

According to an online website, “Tartar sauce is a thick, white, cold sauce, based on mayonnaise, which is typically served with deep-fried fish or seafood. The sauce was invented by the French, who named the condiment “sauce tartare”, however it was actually named for the Tatar people, who settled and ruled in Mongolia and parts of Eastern Europe”. I made some changes to it though, to suit my taste. I made a whole container of it and finished it in 3 days! I brought them to school to with my bags of potato chips to share it with my friends and they loved it! It takes only at the most 20 minutes (plus all the chopping of the ingredients)! Really fast and easy to make!

I was randomly logging on to Klout and got the shock of my life! Everything is gone!! Seems like they have an update or something? Now sure what is going on. T_T I’ll be very unhappy if they don’t give me back my topics and +K’s. >.<

Need more time!

Just a quick update before I head to bed. Lately, I’ve just been getting off work, cook (depending on if my father-in-law cooked something already or not), wash dishes, play diablo, shower and sleep. I’ve been neglecting my movies, books, cross-stitch project etc. I wish I have more time!

I just don’t have the energy to do anything much after I get back from work. I feel so tired. I wonder how some people can actually go out and party all night then get up the next morning and go to work again. So currently, my to-do list just keeps getting longer and longer. I add things on when I am at work and happen to stumble across something interesting that I would like to read up on more. It just piles up but I don’t have the time to clear it. hehe

On a side note, going to Kome sushi buffet tomorrow for a friend’s birthday. Can’t wait! The food quality there is not the best but it is good for the price. I love going there and just piling my plate with sushi. That’s basically the only reason I go there for. Whenever I get cravings for sushi, I will tell Jeff that I want to go to Kome.

Klout – Essie 2012 Summer Collection

Yay..I was awarded an Essie summer collection nail polish. The perk was actually closed already when I saw it but they awarded it to me. I was so happy! =D I didn’t know that they do that. hehe. I received the box few days ago. They gave me the ‘off the shoulder’ color which was a hot pink color.

The whole summer collection is lovely! There’s a total of 6 colors in the colletion. Here’s the description as taken from the brochure that was included in the box.

  • bikiny so teeny – provocative lustrous sky blue
  • cascade cool – frosty, shimmery carnation pink
  • all tied up – naughty molten bronze
  • off the shoulder – daring, scorching hot pink
  • fear or desire – obsession-worthy bright orange
  • mojito madness – fun loving party lime

The whole collection will be on sale in June 2012 with a suggested price of $8.00 per bottle. Aaa..so tempted to get all the colors. I’ve read on other reviews on Klout and saw that others received a different color. I guess they were just sending it out randomly. Maybe I’ll get all the colors if my husband will let me >.< I haven’t tried it out yet but I will soon after I remove the current color that I have on now.

One thing good about Essie nail polishes is that they are DBP, FORMALDEHYDE and TOLUENE free. I can have them on often without worrying that my nails are gonna rot under all the constant color that I put on. =) Can’t wait to try it out. Will post some pictures when I do so.

Concerned neighbors!!

I don’t get why some people are so free to stick their head into other people’s businesses. Maybe they are retired and have nothing to do? The whole story started with us painting the house. The house was getting old with some paint chipping away so we decided to paint it.

We went through lots of brochures and swatches and finally settled on a nice creamy red pink color. So we bought all the paint, set up everything etc. The painters got to work fast. Scraping off all the old paint and what not. Then they decided to paint a small part of the house just to test out the color and that’s when everything happened.

We mysteriously received an anonymous letter marked to the property owners and it says, “Please read immediately” in RED! So we opened it up and inside was a four page letter from our concerned neighbor (we don’t even know who it is) telling us that they walked past our house and saw that little patch so they knew what our house color is going to be.

They then proceeded to tell us that by painting it red, it will be an eye-sore on the street and that it will compromise the value of the house. >.< Sheesh!! Mind your own business PLEASE!! Not only that, they even printed out some stuff which they found on the internet on how to choose a house color and some guide to a good neighbor law brochure.

Julep Maven $0.01 Subscription

So, my sis saw all the nail polishes that I was getting and she wanted it too. Lol. She went and researched about the Julep Maven program and she told me that there’s a current promotion where you can get the first subscription for just $0.01. 1 PENNY!! Ok. I’m SOLD.

Julep Maven June

We received our June edition of the Julep maven box few days ago. This time around, we received a Julep cream for the hands and face with SPF 30, a chapstick with SPF 15, 2 nail polishes, 2 extra caps with brushes and 2 Pixy Stix!

As usual, we shared it between us in the office. I ended up with the chapstick, the blueish Claire nail polish and the extra 2 caps. I forgot to check the name of the other color >.< but it was a pinkish shade.

Can’t wait to try the new colors out. I have yet to try out the pedicure things from last month.

Angel Food Bakery, Brighton

My friend and I were looking for some place to have tea and came across this bakery in the South Lanes in Brighton. The place looks really lovely and the cupcakes looks so pretty. We ordered a red velvet cupcake and a pink vanilla cupcake along with a cup of cappuccino and a latte.

Cupcakes were £1.75 each and drinks were £2.20 each. The red velvet cupcake was delicious but the pink vanilla was a bit dry. The cupcake looked so pretty that we didn’t want to eat it at first. Haha. Overall, it was a pretty good experience and I will definitely go back for more red velvet cupcakes and to try other different flavoured cupcakes!

Klout – Lipton mango pineapple tea and honey

Now that my sisters are writing some posts, I have time to slack a bit haha. Memorial weekend was fun doing nothing. Exactly what I needed. I have several things I want to blog about. I’ve recently received my monthly Julep box as well as more Klout perks. I guess I’ll have to blog about it in order.

Lipton teamed up with Klout to give influencers free sample packs of tea! I received 10 packets of the mango pineapple tea. The smell is AMAZING! And on top of that, 1 packet of tea is only 5 calories.

It was nice and refreshing but the one complain that I have is that its a bit too sweet! Well, I didn’t read the packet to see how much water I’m supposed to put in it, but I filled it in a big cup of a bit more than 360ml and it was still too sweet.

Maybe its better to drink it cold and add some ice cubes to dilute it even more. I’m really surprised though because the packet is so small. I’m surprised it can be so flavorful lol. Will definitely try the other flavors next time.
